On August 31, 2020, my brother, Ronnie McNutt, age 33, took his own life. He was an Army veteran who served in the Iraq War and had PTSD. Like many veterans dealing with mental health issues, he endured his pain in silence until he ultimately succumbed to his struggles. This was a devastating tragedy for our family. We did not want any other family or service member to experience the same heartache that we did. We knew we had to take action to help prevent other service members from suffering in silence.
We established Hinderless22: The Ronnie McNutt Foundation to raise awareness about the mental health issues that our veterans face daily and to address the critical importance of reducing the average of 22 veteran suicides per day. Hinderless22 awards the Ronnie McNutt Memorial Scholarship to graduating high school seniors. We also support veteran suicide awareness programs and collaborate with other nonprofits to enhance outreach for veterans. Hinderless22 is a 100% nonprofit organization. All merchandise sales and donations go directly towards our mission to assist veterans.
